BACKGROUND
Heather-Ann Mendes is a partner of the firm practicing primarily in the area of Family Law and Child Protection. Heather was admitted to the Ontario Bar in July 2005 and she graduated from the University of Windsor Law School in 2004. Prior to completing law school Heather completed her Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2001.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
Heather’s areas of practice include child custody and access; mobility; child support; spousal support; division of family property; divorce as well as child protection litigation. Heather is experienced in both oral and written advocacy before the Ontario Court of Justice; Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Heather’s practice also includes a variety of alternative dispute resolution methods including four-way meetings and collaborative family law. As well, Heather is in the process of completing her mediation accreditation to join the Ontario Association for Family Mediation.
Heather is also a panel member of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer; the Domestic Violence Advice Group and she is a chairperson for the Canada Pension Plan Tribunal.
